Host Community School Funding

The schools located in the host community include: Westfield School, River Valley Middle School, Grand Bay Primary School, Inglewood School, and Morna Heights School.

The CMEI has set aside a maximum of $600 per school in the host area per calendar year. The funding must go towards projects of an environmental nature and cannot be carried over from year to year. Please use the grant application form to identify the nature of your environmental project and apply for the funds.  Projects should promote environmental awareness or provide an opportunity for environmental education.

Sample Projects

• Raising smolt salmon to be released into streams, once grown
• Building bird feeders
• Installing outdoor thermometers and wind chill thermometers
• Composting
• Landscaping
• Purchasing outdoor garbage bins on wheels
• Installing picnic tables with attached garbage bins
• Planting flower bulbs
